New Argentine tango classes for beginners & improvers will commence at PEC (Physical Education Center) of Queen's University Belfast on Tuesday 20th and Friday 23rd of April 2010 running for 8 weeks. The description for the classes has as following:

Beginners
This class aims to teach the fundamental elements of tango salón (communication, elegance and seduction) through simple routines as it is danced today in Buenos Aires to absolute beginners. Students are welcome to register with or without a partner.

Improvers
This class continues and enhances the material taught at the beginners level. Enhanced elements of tango such as giros with open and closed embrace, sacadas, barridas and simple routines in rythmic tango (tango milonguero) with closed embrace are introduced, analysed and practiced. Prerequisite to enroll on this level is to have completed one beginners level class cycle at PEC or elsewhere, or having danced tango for at least 6 months. It is strongly recommended to enroll with a parther, but if that is not possible qualified singles are also welcome and will be taken care.

General notes
The duration of the class is 1.5 hr long. This arragement enable us to perfectly wrap the class material in time, from the warm-up/walking exercises down to the main material taught of the evening down to the conclusion and practice on it for the last 20 min with selected genuine argentine tango music.

It is highly recommended that ladies wear comfortable smart casual clothes (preferably dress, but even trousers is ok), and high heel shoes (e.g. sandals, but NOT spike heels) and gentlemen wear street shoes with leather sole (NOT rubber soles).
Also, since tango involves close embrace of the partners with sometimes physical contact of the faces, please ensure a clean body and mouth (fresh breath), but without excessive perfume or lotions. As tango is the epitome of romance and elegant seduction between a man and a woman, respect for each one's partner will help keep the magic of tango live!
