Hi All,
Welcome to the New Year and we’re in with a quick start, seeing classes re-start this Monday (4th). So, whether you’re a Tango addict who’s been suffering cold turkey

withdrawal since our last super Christmas party event, or are a newbie looking for that final incentive to start ... Monday 4th is the date to start the Tango New Year on. More details of the weekly class are in the section below.
For those who can’t wait that long, SalsaBelfast have their mini-Milonga in Windsor tonight (2nd) from 9-11pm, more details below.
Feel free to forward this on to anyone else who you think might be interested. In fact, it’s only by keeping the numbers up that we can afford to bring professional teachers to you, so please have a good hard think if there are any family, friends, or colleagues who you could persuade along. If you want removed from this circulation, just let me know.
Thanks,
Alan

Weekly Monday classes re-start on Monday 4th with Keith Burke for 3 weeks.Filling the 3 week gap until Aldo arrives, we’ll have the services of Keith Burke to brush up our technique and blow away those Christmas pounds. For those of you who have been with the Society since its start 2 ½ years ago, Keith (who is based in Dublin) was our very first teacher and has a very methodical teaching and practice method.
The classes will be the usual format:
Beginners 7.00 – 8.30pmPractice 8.30 – 8.45pm
Improvers 8.45 – 10.15pmPractice 10.15– 10.30pm
Cost - £7 for one class, £10 for both (Student/Concession: £5/£8 – please show ID).
Usual venue details: the main upstairs hall of City Church, 12-24 University Avenue (on the left as you head down the Avenue away from Botanic - there's a large white church, then City Church is a red brick building a few doors further, opposite the Spar). The hall is above the “Common Grounds" café, but enter through the double doors round the corner – ring the bell if closed. Here's a link to a map:

Next BATS monthly Milonga is on Saturday 16th January. Our monthly Milongas are on the third Saturday of the month so the next one is Saturday 16th January. The venue will still be The Edge, same time 9pm-12+, same price £5. It’s your chance to dress up (or come casual, whatever) and enjoy a night of Tango. Even if you have only learnt how to walk and the basic eight, you can still have a go – and it’s only by having a go that you will become familiar with the technique and steps.
3. YouTube clipHere’s a festive clip of some of the Dublin crowd doing a flash mob dance on a busy Dublin street during the rush hour Xmas shopping. All power to them for keeping going through the festive shoppers, drunken have-a-goers and not one but two police vehicles speeding through with sirens blaring!
