Hi All,

There’s only one thing to tell you this week and that is your final reminder that this weekend is our big event of the year – the Midsummer Workshops and Milonga. It’s the one weekend of the year where we bring top class teachers to Belfast to give you two special days of workshops, with a great Milonga featuring performances from the teachers – Marion and Enrique Ringa.

The workshops will be geared to our levels (Level 1 = Beginner, Level 2 = Improver) so don’t feel daunted at all – it’s a great chance for some intensive tuition from these great teachers. Everyone who remembers them from last year will vouch for that.

Thanks to everyone who has pre-booked, but for those that haven’t, just come along on the day. Finally, a gentle reminder that the Shorts Recreation Club has its own restaurant and bar so they have asked us not to bring your own food and drink onto the premises.

Private lessons are available with Marion and Enrique – please contact me in advance to book.

The full details are repeated below – see you at the weekend.

P.S. Practica as normal this Thursday in The West
P.P.S. If you’re not coming to our event this Saturday, this might interest you, a Tango recital in Newry:

Midsummer Milonga

On Saturday night, from 9pm, we’ll have our biggest Milonga of the year. During the evening, our guest teachers, Marion and Enrique Ringa, will perform for us – well worth seeing! Entrance £10.

It will be held in Belfast Rowing Club, Lockview Road, Stranmillis (which is just before Belfast Boat Club, the one with all the tennis courts). To find it, get to the roundabout on the Stranmillis Road, in front of Stranmillis College and take the exit that is Lockview Road, which takes you past the Cutters Wharf pub. On the left just after the Cutters are two linked car parks, drive into the second one and go two thirds of the way up, where you should see a gate on the left with “Belfast Rowing Club” on it. You can’t drive in, just park there (there’s plenty of parking) and use the pedestrian gate (if you see tennis courts, you’ve gone too far, that’s Belfast Boat Club!). We are in the double storey building; go up the stairs immediately on the left when you go in – follow the music..... Here’s a link to a map, although the “A” mark isn’t in the right place – it shows the entrance to the car park rather than the building itself:

A few notes about this venue:
• As none of us drink enough, it is not worth them putting on a bar – so please bring you own.
• Smokers – the venue is a sports club with a no-smoking policy. If you must smoke (outside) please do not throw your butts on the ground – dispose of them carefully.
• Please refrain from putting talc on the floor.
