"Barrio de Tango" club was formed in spring 2008 as a manifestation and product of a vision that a Greek man named Nikos had about Argentine Tango.This vision has been to establish this wonderful danceart in N.Ireland, in every major city of it and bring people together through its magestic and exquisite music and dance style.
Argentine Tango brings together people from different races, religions, ethnic origin and political convictions that share a dream to enjoy themselves swinging romantically, sensually and with elegant grace in a dim-lighted dance floor under the crying of a burning violin, a passionate and fury bandoneón and a crazy piano...
To realize his vision, Nikos has found warm and sincere friends and dance partners in the faces of Richard, Dolores, Piret and others, that can understand the sighs of his heart and the passion of his soul
Nikos has been dancing tango since 2004 and has participated in various tango festivals in Ireland and Europe. He is also travelling regularly to Buenos Aires for advanced dance training and has studied tango with Néstor and Mónica Castillo, Jesús Velázquez, Daniel and Sabrina Bissio and Carlos Copello.
With the alias "griego_tanguero" Nikos together with his friends is currently teaching tango classes in Belfast and organizes the future expansion of this religion to the rest of N.Ireland.
